Memory And Consequences
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
The calendar forces two heavy anniversaries into the same week, and we can feel it. We start by naming what a lot of people avoid saying out loud: 9/11 is not just a memory, it’s a measuring stick. Twenty-five years later, we’re still asking what the United States actually learned about security, culture, civic duty, and the cost of pretending warning signs do not exist. We talk about how we personally handle the day, why some of us cannot watch the memorial programming, and why the emotions can flip from grief to fury when public life feels like it’s mocking the lessons.
Then we shift into the mechanics of power and competence, starting with Secretary Hegseth and the growing sense of instability across military leadership. We break down the churn of firings, resignations, acting roles, and blocked promotions, plus the controversy around military-wide testosterone testing and why messaging and trust matter as much as policy. If you care about readiness, morale, and civil-military leadership, this part connects the dots fast.
From there, we dig into the Lindsay Clancy mistrial and what an 11 to 1 jury split means in real life: venue fights, media pressure, the insanity defense debate, and how hard it is to find an unbiased jury when social media turns tragedy into team sports. We also hit the international front with Iran refusing IAEA inspections, the UN Security Council implications, and how sanctions escalate when the whole UN system gets pulled in. We close with midterms strategy, Europe’s backlash to mass migration, a remembrance of Charlie Kirk’s legacy, and a lighter landing on football, the NFL’s shifting tone, and the market reality behind “go woke, go broke.”
If this conversation challenges you, share it with a friend who will argue in good faith, subscribe so you don’t miss what’s next, and leave a review telling us what we got right or wrong.

Catching Up And Small Talk
SPEAKER_02This is the coach.
SPEAKER_04Well, hey, Stranger. How you been?
SPEAKER_01How are you?
SPEAKER_04I noticed your beard got scruffier. You got a grisly atoms going on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I am overdue for a for a trim. I'm like, I'm gonna do one more before winter, and I may actually do my annual shave it all off and give my skin a break, and then just throw it back in for wintertime. It's getting it's getting to be that time of year.
SPEAKER_04So I was um I was scrolling through, so I I got a new computer, yay me. And um I was switching over, I got a new desk desktop and still have the laptop, but I always did everything from the laptop and it finally just dawned on me like, dum dum, you need a you need a desktop. So just do it. So I did. So I was kind of cleaning up the laptop and moving things over. And as I was scrolling through some uh older video files, I came across some of your beardless ones from the last time you did it. And I was like, I was doing like the scroll and I was getting a little like sleepy doing it, and I'm like, scroll, scroll, scroll. And then I'm like, who the heck is that? What's this? And I'm like, oh my God, it's clay. It was funny. I was like, oh wow. It's been about a year. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I am I am definitely one way or the other, whether it's a trim or completely taking off, I'm definitely overdue. Yes.
SPEAKER_04All right, all right. We'll see what it looks like. We already know what it's gonna look like. And we also know that it like you blink and it's your full beard again in like two seconds.
SPEAKER_01Men I and I'm an oddity, you know. Like my my dad, my dad can't grow a beard to save his life. My grandfather on my dad's side couldn't grow a beard. Um, my son can't grow a beard, like none, none of them. So this is from mom's side of the family, uh, is the uh assumption. Uh mom's half Italian.
SPEAKER_04So and hang on, just because your mom's gonna be watching and she's gonna call you after this show and she's like, don't tell people it's from me. Mom, we know it's not you, it's the it's the men in the side of the family.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes. This is the Italian side, I think. Yes.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that's too funny. Yeah, yeah. No, that's um, that's I don't know. I I'm a scruff lover. When anytime my husband gets a chance to grow his his uh scruff out and grow some beard, I love it. I think it's a great look. Not the not the and as much as I love Grizzly Adams, not the big giant, massive beards that I I'm not a fan of that.
SPEAKER_01This is about as far as I can go. Like I can grab onto it like this. This is it's time to trim down at this point. It's definitely too too long.
SPEAKER_04Are you ready for the Lou Albano? Um little bands. I just pulled that name out of nowhere, too. Thank you. Thank you. I was a wrestling geek. I loved it, I loved the old wrestling back in the day. I was a strange girl, it was just an odd girl. Oh, I'm sure everybody was so shocked at that. Like, what? You really never, never. Oh my goodness.
25 Years After 9/11
SPEAKER_04All right. Well, I'm you know, I'm I'm glad that we kind of started this off on a light note because we have, you know, some heavier topics. Um, I already warned Clay, uh, I never get through one of these topics without uh getting teary. And um, you know, it is what it is. Y'all are you don't care. I know you don't care. It's all fine. But um this week we're marking the 25 years, 25 years since 9-11, um, since the towers fell. And um I don't know if it's ironically or not, or just a headshaker, but uh many of us are asking, of course, what have we, what have we actually learned here? Because one look at New York City right now tells me we didn't learn anything. We haven't, you know, and and I remember, and I'm sure you remember, um, you know, that that's our you know how people always say, Where were you? You know, the older generation says, Where were you when Kennedy was shot? And they all, everybody from that generation remembers exactly what they were doing, where they were, um, you know, what they were wearing, everything. And and for a lot of us, myself included, that would be 9-11. I can see it, it comes everything comes right back, uh, all of that.
SPEAKER_01And um Pearl Harbor, right? Pearl Harbor, Kennedy, the moon landing, right? Which, you know, now there's a lot of suspicion about that. But those three, 9-11 is the other one. Um, some of us remember the Challenger explosion. Like I remember being in you know, sixth or seventh grade math class, you know, and I I literally had the Gen X experience of like watching it on the TV, the explosion, the teachers like all huddled in the hallway, and then it was like, all right, go back to work. And we just like went on with our school day.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Umbody really understood what happened.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 9-11 for us was definitely that, you know. I mean it's uh but we haven't had anything since. And like this generated, thankfully, like I hope that tragedy on any anybody or any part of the world, but that's not something that we want to repeat. But uh, yes. Oh, by the way, folks, it is Wednesday, uh 10th at approximately the ninth four. The ninth?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_04Isn't it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, isn't it? Oh, it is the ninth. Okay. So um so Wednesday the ninth, yes, correct. And uh, and so it's approximately 4 p.m. on the East Coast. So you will hear us making references to both uh 9-11, and then uh obviously another topic we're gonna we're gonna cover is tomorrow is the 10th, uh, which is uh Charlie Kirk day. So that is in the uh among many other topics that we've got on the roll today, but uh those are the two that we're gonna have to keep Elsida from falling apart.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah, help me keep it together. Help me keep it together. Uh tomorrow I'll be uh tomorrow's just gonna be a uh, you know, it's gonna be a solemn day, obviously. And we'll talk about it more after. Um so I'm kind of like mentally preparing for it and I'm kind of trying to get my mind right and and just um, you know, just make it a full-on faith day. I think that's what Charlie would uh would love for us all to do. So point it where it belongs. Um, but let's start off talking, not that it's a lighter topic, it's just a different topic that'll keep
Hegseth And Military Leadership Turmoil
SPEAKER_04me from crying. Uh Heg Seth, let's talk about your bestie, your favorite, favorite guy. Let's talk about what's going on. Is he losing the military? What's going on?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's there's whispers uh from within the force. You know, I still have a lot of friends uh spread out all over the military, and uh there are whispers that things are that he is in some ways starting to lose the support of the military. There's always been a conflict between him and the leadership um because of his personality and and beliefs about where he should be focused versus where he is focused. But now with some of these choices and some of these decisions, it's starting to trickle down and he's starting to lose uh some folks within the force itself. Uh, and and so while he was a hero, quote unquote, for a long time, uh now it's starting to shift a little bit. And so just to put things in perspective, um, he currently does not have uh a secretary of the army or a secretary of the navy uh confirmed by Congress. He also doesn't have uh a chief of staff of the Army uh right now.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01Uh he's got a long-standing uh chief of staff of the Air Force and Commandant of the Marine Corps. Uh the Navy, the CNO, as they call it, which is the Chief of Naval Operations, the highest ranking naval officer, um, has gone a little bit at odds. He's been in the seat for about a year, but he's been a little bit at odds with uh Hegzith about the length of deployments for the Navy, for the boat crews, the ship crews, and how sustainable that is. Um so you know, this is one of those things that you just don't know how Secretary Heggs is going to react. Um, so specifically, he puts his fingers into the army a lot because that's what he's comfortable with, because that's where he came from.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_01He's you know, he's a National Guard, former National Guard officer, but you know, he he fired the vice chief of staff of the army on the 6th of February. He fired the chief of, and then he appointed General Chris Laneeve as the vice chief of staff. Um he fired General George on the 2nd of April, put in Laneeve as the acting chief of staff. Um the Secretary of the Army resigned uh on the 2nd of September, just this past week. Um now he's got an acting secretary of the army. He in the midst of all this, he also fired the Secretary of the Navy on the 22nd of April.
SPEAKER_04So you answered my question because I was gonna ask you like, uh, you know, is this a mix of people resigning or quitting or leaving, or this is him firing?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, at those levels, sometimes a resignation is still being is still being fired. Uh there oftentimes they're given the option of resign or I'm gonna fire you, which is exactly what happened to General Mingus, uh, who was the vice chief of staff of the army. Um and I know a lot of these folks on a on a personal level. I know General Jim Mingus, um, I know General George, uh, the former Army Chief of Staff, kind of on the fringes. I've known General Lanid for 30 plus years.
SPEAKER_02Oh wow. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And so I I know, and and then, and then in the midst of all that, you also have Chris Donahue, General Chris Donahue, who was the he's known very well as the last service member who left Afghanistan. It's that picture, the night vision picture of him. He was a two-star general at the time when he's walking up the ramp of the cargo plane. Um, and so General Donohue was the commander of uh US Army, Europe, and Africa. And Hegzith basically told him this is as far as you're going, uh, even though he was potentially a candidate to be the vice chief of staff or the next chief of staff of the army. Uh, and the story is there's a misunderstanding about that particular photo um of him, you know. Heggs, of all people, said, Oh, it's very egotistical. It was a selfie. He he directed someone to take that photo of him, which for those that know General Chris Donahue was couldn't be further from the thing. But again, you got a guy like Secretary Hegzith, who is a self-promoter, um, you know, upset about General Donahue. Anyway, yeah. There it that divided the army in a lot of ways into a couple of different camps. You had a lot of folks who support General Lane, you had a lot of support folks who supported General Donahue, and and it really put a dividing line and has divided the army into camps. But then you've also got like this new testosterone testing, right? So they're gonna test everybody in the military for testosterone. A lot of people are they're confused, they don't understand it, they think again it's an ego thing. He's blocked a number of promotions. There have been 80 some general officers uh across the military who have been fired or relieved, or you know, their careers have been ended. You know, he's had this thing about the shaving profile, which has kind of put a dividing line between with African Americans who suffer from the shaving bumps, uh, you know, fitness tests and uniform appearances and some other things where he's getting down into the weeds, and it's really kind of this is where he's starting to lose some of the force, right? And it and um women in combat positions and things, you know, he's getting down into these things, and and a lot of folks, it's it's very divisive. And so the feeling right now is that he is starting to lose, as I said at the top of this, the lower ranks within the military with some of these decisions. Now, you're gonna get a lot of folks older than me, you're gonna get a lot of folks younger than me that side with the secretary. They're gonna, you know, he was better than Secretary Austin, okay, fine. Um, he wasn't a he's not a fat guy like General Milley was, okay, fine. Like there, you know, there's there's a lot of arguments to be had. Um, but the things that he's been relying upon, which is going down and being with the troops and doing PT with them and all of these other things, like the shininess of that is starting to wear off with policy decisions, as was expected by those of us who've been around for a few days. Right. So it sounds like he's got all of the support from President Trump, but there are also rumors that he is eyeing a run for president in 2028.
SPEAKER_04I've heard those rumors as well. Yeah, I've heard that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And so my guess, and I do make some pretty decent guesses, I've been proven in the past to be somewhat accurate. If he makes it public that he is interested in running for president in 2028, um, I think that President Trump is gonna give him one chance to stay in his box. And if he continues to step out of his box, I think he's gonna fire him. Um, because what he what he what President Trump will not tolerate is divisiveness within the party. And that we'll get to that more because we're coming up on midterms. Um but I think he's gonna want Heggs to focus on his job. I think he's gonna want him to correct some things like get a new sec army in there, get a new chief of staff of the army in there, get a new secretary of the navy in there, get him confirmed, get back to business. Uh, and if he gets sidelined or sidetracked into buying a presidential bid, I think President Trump's gonna give him one check. He's gonna put him in check one time, and if he doesn't correct himself, I think he's gonna fire him.
SPEAKER_04Interesting. All right, take me back for a minute. You mentioned uh I'm I'm confused. I'm one of those people confused about the whole testosterone thing. Is that related to the whole transgenders, or is that just simply he wants some really masculine, manly men in there, or neither?
SPEAKER_01I think it's a I think it's a bunch of things. I I think it covers a lot. I do think it does cover the testosterone with the transgender, right? Which he's already put a cap on. Like, okay, transgender, get out, whatever. I don't know if he's sneakily trying to test for people that are doing it on the side. I don't know, but it does cover that. I think that in general health terms, both male and female, low testosterone is a dangerous thing and leads to a lot of health conditions, a lot of bad health conditions. So if everybody gets tested and then they get a supplement if their testosterone is low, it prevents a lot of health issues within the military. So that's I think the overarching selling point for this. But I do think there is also this like, let's beef up the military. Let's, you know, you know, I think you're gonna see a lot of folks who probably don't need a testosterone boost getting a testosterone boost. Right. And, you know, you're gonna, you know, it is the beefy, like, you know, kind of thing. So yeah, I think it it covers a lot of bases, but I don't think the force trusts it as a thing. I think because of COVID policies, you know, the forced jab, I think there's a lot of people in the military that are like, hey, stay out of my business. You know, I don't get I don't need this, I don't want this. They don't trust it as a you know as part of the system. So it's getting mixed reviews, the folks that I know who are still in, and again, down to the lowest level, you've got a lot of folks are like, why do I need to I'm 19 years old? Why do I need to get my testosterone tested? Right. Um, and and I don't think it's being relayed down. The messaging isn't great within the force. So that's that's an issue as well.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's interesting. Uh another question I have for you. So comparatively, his time so far uh as as Sec Def compared to the others, did the others his his predecessors, did they also have the same amount of turnover like this, or is this kind of like an anomaly?
SPEAKER_01Has vowed to shrink the the upper ranks of the military. We are the military is is inflated comparatively. You always hear this like we've got more generals now than we had in World War II, which isn't entirely true, but the general officer to soldier ratio is way out of whack comparatively. Yeah, um, we have built more headquarters and more staff functions within the military that do require some supervision at Upper Echelon. Now, in the case of like General Donahue, is a great case. He was replaced by Kevin Admiral, Lieutenant General, Kevin Admiral, again, a guy that I know. Um, but that job, that US Army, Europe, and Africa went from a four-star, which is what General Donohue was, to a three-star. And again, this goes along with what Hegset's trying to do, which is reduce the number of generals. And you do that by saying, okay, we have 16 four-stars, we're going to reduce that to 10. Where do we get rid of six of them? Right. And this is one of the places where, so it bumps everything down. So the four-star job becomes a three-star, the three-star job below that becomes a two-star, and so on and so forth. So that that's part of it. But there have been a lot of questionable and unexplained. Um, we're not promoting that person, we're not promoting that person. And and the optics of it are there's a abnormally high number of females and minority race officers who have been blocked from promotion or removed from position. Conversely, Kevin Admiral is African American. So, like the guy who replaced General Donahue in Europe and Africa is a black officer. So you can argue it both ways. Is there a reduction? Yes. Uh, is it abnormal on the surface? Yes. Uh, are they removing officers in the same fashion as a lot of administrations? Yes. So it is not uncommon for senior leadership appointed by and confirmed under a previous administration to reach their terminal time and okay, you're done, go home. So that that's not that uncommon, but it this seems very out of whack for a lot of reasons. Um but President Trump has proven over time that he is okay with acting, you know, cabinet members that you know, without Senate confirmation, and he's this is kind of where the services are at right now. Hung Hung, what's his name? Hung Cao, who is the acting secretary of the Navy, has been acting since the 22nd of April. Oh, okay. Right? And so he's been the acting secretary now for a long time. Yeah, here's the problem. You remember, maybe you don't, but when Secretary Austin was confirmed, and this was one of the big complaints that even I had, there's a seven-year waiting period from the time you retire to the time that you can be a service secretary, right?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I remember, I don't remember it. I remember you talking about it a while back. So yeah.
SPEAKER_01So supposed to be seven years, right? And that kind of separates you from the service, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. They did a waiver for Secretary Austin. Hung Kao has only been retired for I think four years. He would also require a waiver. Now, a lot of people complained about Secretary Austin, like, no, you should wait seven years. Again, I was one of them. So I think you should also wait for the Secretary of the Navy. Um, so there again, it's it's it's very tumultuous right now, and this is part of the problem is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of clear directives. There doesn't seem to be a lot of um team built, like locked in, get the right people and and keep them there, kind of thing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um yeah, it's it's kind of very I I think just it seems broken right now. It probably, you know, the the services are gonna continue to go the way that they go. Like you're never gonna stop the army, you're never gonna stop the navy from functioning. Sure. But it does seem a little bit up in the air right now.
SPEAKER_04You ready for all the uh you're ready for all the Heg Seth fans in the comment section until you don't know where to think.
SPEAKER_01And that's fine. And and I've said this before, and I will say it a million times. If you want to compare resumes, mine to his, I'll happily do it. Um and and I will tell you that my military resume is significantly longer than his, and I'm not qualified to be the second up. So you know, that's it has been my beef since day one. You and I have talked about this a million times.
SPEAKER_04You've been very clear about your what exactly your issues are, and you've been, I think you've been very fair too. You've given him credit where you felt credit was due for him for you know one thing or another. And I I think it's been very balanced. Y'all in the comments section can learn something from that.
SPEAKER_01They can come after me if they want. I'm I'm cool with it.
SPEAKER_04Right. Um, all right.
Testosterone Testing And Trust Problems
SPEAKER_04So uh next topic. Um we're gonna have to keep Mel in checks. It's let's see if we can get through the next topic without Mel swearing. That'll be gets me very unchristian. Uh, we're talking about the Lindsay Clancy trial, or I guess mistrial at this point, uh, and basically like what what happens now after this. Um after 38 plus hours of deliberations, the jury remained 11 to 1. And the judge and Judge Williams Sullivan declared a mistrial. And today, uh three jurors, including the four person, have publicly described their frustration with the loan holdout.
SPEAKER_01And of course, the flip side of that there was a report that came out just this morning.
SPEAKER_04Oh, okay. I missed that one. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01All of this, all of the same things.
SPEAKER_04Same things, all the same things. Um, and of course, you know, the the flip side of that, the counter to uh what I just said is that you know, you have a whole slew of of internet people that are you know just putting a superhero cape on uh this man for being the holdout for not um just agreeing for the sake of agreeing and and getting out of there. Um so uh I I'll tell you what, I don't really know what to what to feel. I don't know what to really think. Um mainly, mainly, well, let me rephrase that. I know exactly what I feel and what I think about uh Lindsay Clancy. Um and it it's I am not one of the pink wearing partners outside the courthouse. I can tell you that. Right now. And I will advise you with a smile, people, that uh ladies in particular, because I don't know if I've seen any men uh with this sentiment. Um, if you don't like that I don't support Lindsay Clancy, it's worse than I don't support her. I want her locked up for life. I'd prefer she got the death penalty. Um, so there's your cue to unfollow if that bothers you. I don't care. I genuinely don't care because I care about those three babies that she strangled. That's it. That's it. And uh I'm so disgusted and repulsed by the minions of women on social media um identifying with Lindsay Clancy. I am sickened by these women who do not deserve to have their children um uh holding their precious, innocent babies with the caption above them saying, I I I could be you. I could be you, Lindsay. I stopped myself, Clay. I was about to say bad words to these ladies, not doing it. I'm okay.
SPEAKER_01Um, yeah. So you speak for a minute. Go ahead. Yeah, so the the the big question is, and the defense attorney's trying everything he can, up to and including um, you know, he he appealed to the president for a pardon already. Like it's crazy. The things that are going on, he has done everything. If the name of that 11th juror ever comes out, uh that guy is gonna have to go into witness protection because he is being vilified by the defense attorney, by these other jurors that are coming out, um, all kinds of things. And it's inappropriate, truthfully. Yeah. Oh, it's horrendous. Procedurally, it was bad. Like the defense attorney was trying to uh get the judge to replace him out of the 12, just so they could get somebody to agree, and and all kinds of things. It was all bad procedurally, and then of course, you know, this individual held out and and he for whatever reason. Um, and I know that the jurors are saying he was ignoring the judge's instructions or he didn't understand um, you know, what um reasonable doubt was, even though it had been explained to him a bunch of times, or he was willfully ignoring whatever it is. The problem is that this trial is gonna have to happen again. And because of the you know, press coverage in the aftermath, yeah, even more so than while it was going on. Um the question is that you know, if you're a if you're the prosecutor, I am immediately requesting a change of venue. I want that out of Massachusetts, absolutely. If not right at a minimum out of that, out of that district. But for sure if I can get it out of Massachusetts, I will. But then where do you take it? Like, I like who where are you gonna find 12 people who are uh oblivious enough of the of this trial?
SPEAKER_03Somebody had a great suggestion. Bring it to the have Amish Drew. You knew where I was going, yeah.
SPEAKER_04You posted that. I know I know all of the backlash comments to that suggestion. Yes, I we've all heard the same types of things, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01But where do you take it though? I mean, really, where where can you, especially in the Northeast and especially in Massachusetts, there is no way that you retry this from Jump Street and get twelve 18, really. If you need 18, where are you gonna get 18 people who don't already have an opinion formed on this? One one way or the other, on her innocence or on her guilt for a fair trial. I don't know if that's possible. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04I I mean I can't I can't imagine. I can't imagine it being possible. It is one of the biggest stories that we've had in, you know, since it started. Um and I guess it's still on the table that it they could decide, or I guess the judge could decide to not retry her. Is that correct? Like it doesn't, I don't think it I don't think it necessarily I don't think it's a a definite that uh a new trial will even happen. I I think that decision could be made. No, are you are you thinking otherwise?
SPEAKER_01I I don't know. I don't I don't think that's correct, but I'm not folks, I'm not an attorney.
SPEAKER_03Clearly, I'm not, guys.
SPEAKER_01Um I I I would assume the only way that would not be a judge's decision if the prosecution dropped the charges. Oh, that would be or or if a deal was struck. In other words, if the prosecution, who looks at this now and says, it was 11 to 1, we almost lost, and and they forward a deal that says no jail time, all mental institution, something like that. We lower it to manslaughter, or we or we automatically go to insanity, the insanity plea. Well, you know, can we take can we make a deal here? Now I would tell you.
SPEAKER_04I hate the insanity plea. Like I can't even begin to tell you. I think it is the dumbest thing, right?
SPEAKER_02Absolutely lie. Absolute lie.
SPEAKER_04It's so dumb. And and you know, I don't I don't think we're gonna spend our time doing the whole debate on um her her mental state. I I suspect we're pretty much on the same page with all of that. So it'll it'll just be an echo chamber chamber for us. And I very clearly stated my opinion. I mean, please go ahead and state yours. If it's different from mine, I certainly, you know, it's not she murdered her kids.
SPEAKER_01She's crazy. She she is listen, everybody, anybody who kills somebody in cold blood like that is crazy. It's crazy. It's crazy, period. Jeffrey Bonner, John Wayne Basey. They were all like they're crazy.
SPEAKER_04All crazy, all held accountable, even if you're crazy. You're still you're still accountable. And you know, eh, screw it. I'm going for it. I don't care. Um, I I think I don't think that she was uh as as crazy in this way that she said, What was it? Postpartum psychocosis. That's the um, you know, the the cop out there, the claim. Um I, you know, based on everything I've read, and yeah, I did some reading um on it, uh, is kind of it goes against everything about postpartum psychosis that there is, you know, this one time, one time conveniently that she heard a voice, the voice told her to do it. She never heard a voice before that, never heard a voice after that. The suicide attempt, the woman's a nurse. She doesn't know how to, you know, and I'm sorry to be graphic, guys, but she doesn't know how to slit her writs, wrists, she doesn't know how to cut her throat, jumped out of a second story really window. Give me a break. It was all a show. She's nuts, all right. She's just criminally nuts, and she should be locked up for life. I'm sorry. If let's let's let's be super generous here, okay, as a mother. If if I mean I can't I can barely even say the words because to formulate the thought is just so repugnant to me and horrific. But if I lost my mind, if I went into postpartum psychosis and killed my babies, and then came out of that psychosis and realized what I did, you better damn well be sure that I would make sure I finish the job on myself because there is no way in the world I would want to even exist. And this woman wants a fair trial. She wants, she, you know, I mean, please, I'd be saying, put me away for life, put me in a hole. I don't even care. I deserve nothing. And this woman, not so much. So I think she's a big faker. Sorry, guys. I think I just lost probably what? How many followers do you think I just lost? Like 20,000.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but you probably picked up 20,000 at the same time.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, maybe, right?
SPEAKER_01Listen, this is, you know, we are in this weird space where procedurally it's a problem. And and and I I hope, I actually hope that this goes back to a full trial and and it goes through the process. I really don't want a deal to be cut because that means she's not right gonna get what she deserves. Um, so I I don't, you know, I don't want the prosecution to drop the charges. I don't want a you know insanity plea deal to be cut. I want it to go back to trial, but we are in that space where it is, I I can't fathom where you find 18 people. I just I I don't know how that happens.
SPEAKER_04Uh you know, I'm sure that is the conversation right now, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, oh yeah. They're gonna have to dig deep into Appalachia somewhere, you know, and and like it's it's gonna have to be something like that. So um listen, I and this is gonna be a year. Easily because if they can't get if they can't get people who don't know, they're certainly going to buy time to let it fade from people's memories. So I would bet that you don't even approach a retrial for another year. Um we'll be we'll be reliving this, you know, a year from now, 18 months, maybe even two years from now, and they'll go through this again, uh, hoping again that a deal is not cut between now and a retrial.
SPEAKER_04Yep, the Clancy fans will have to find a new psychopath to uh call their leader.
SPEAKER_01They'll find one. There's there's copy cats already.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, within a week, they'll have their new, yep, their new their new role model. Lunatics, crazy women. I don't want those people following my content. Go the hell away, please. Do all right, that's it. Um, I think I stayed very calm, Clay. I don't know if you I don't know if anybody else would agree on that, but that's okay. Um let's change gears so I can calm down and let you talk a little bit
Retrial Timing And Public Memory
SPEAKER_04here. Uh, will the UN get involved with Iran? What's gonna happen, Clay?
SPEAKER_01You and I started a clock on this. I can't even like it's been months and months and months. Um but but what hasn't happened is that the UN has not been involved. There's been uh you know some attempts for the UN to tell President Trump, stop it. Um he has ignored them. Um but now for the first time in 20 years, the IAEA, which is the you know International Atomic Energy Agency or whatever it is that monitors nuclear capability around the world, uh went in to do some inspections and the Iranians told them to go away. Um so for the first time in 20 years, they went back to the UN Security Council and said, you know, they're not cooperating. And so that elevates things, right? If you let IAEA in and they do, you know, their inspections, whatever they find or don't find, it stays kind of at an energy level. When you say no, you can't come in, then that turns it into a potential nuclear weapons level, and it goes to the UN Security Council, which forces the UN to get involved. Um now there is a resolution out there. Uh I think what was it? The all the all the typical players, uh, you know, Russia, China, somebody else voted against, um, US, Britain, Germany, France voted for, uh, but it but it's been elevated, and now you have the potential for the UN to get involved in the sense of economics across the UN. So if they put UN sanctions on Iran, that goes much, much further than just US sanctions on Iran. Um, and and and it forces the other UN members to participate and and honor whatever sanctions are placed. So, you know, what what's the economic, what is this operation, this crazy operation that's going on? Uh I don't even know the name of it. But, you know, president and it has taken its toll. President Trump put economic sanctions, and the Secretary of the Treasury jumped in and, you know, they've put some sanctions on Iran, which have really started to hurt. And so, but you've always got the back door of China and Russia and the others who are gonna, you know, feed them uh indirectly, uh, whether it's money or buying their oil or whatnot. But if the UN puts the sanctions on, those member nation states have gotta they gotta kind of toe the line.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01Um, or it puts the UN itself at risk. So um now the economic stuff that the US is doing is really starting to hurt in the sense that we've coupled it appropriately so with military action. They are running out of money. Uh Iran is. Uh they have plenty of oil, but we just destroyed five more of their oil tankers. And if they can't export oil, then they don't get any money. And and so they are running out of money, you know, their their stockpiles of money from previous oil sales are all drying up. So it's really starting to hurt now, just like every other nation in this kind of space, it's gonna hurt the government last and the government leadership last. It's gonna hurt the people now, and that's starting to happen. But um if the UN steps in and they lay sanctions on top of this because Iran's not, you know, listening to IAEA and they're not letting them in to do their inspections and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, then then this turns a different corner. And it would be the first time the UN's gotten involved with this since this latest round of of you know kinetic attacks is or shooting war, if you want to call it simply, between the US and Iran kicked off.
SPEAKER_04So all right.
SPEAKER_01We'll see what happens.
SPEAKER_04We'll see what happens. I'm sure we'll be talking about it next week.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, we will.
SPEAKER_04What a surprise. Uh all right, let's move on
Iran Inspections And UN Sanctions
SPEAKER_04then. Uh, eight weeks until the midterms, and uh Republicans have a problem. So election day, of course, is November 3rd, and that means obviously we're eight weeks out. Republicans currently control the House, but Democrats need only a net three seats to take it. Um Cook's modeling. I don't even know what that is. I don't know what that is. I'm not gonna pretend I know what that is. Do you know what that is? I don't have a clue. I'm like, why would I put that note in there? I'm like, I don't even know what the heck that is, guys. Um, but anyhow, whatever that is, has Democrats narrowly favored for the House while its analysts have generally seen Republicans having a better say. Like, I'm so I'm tired, I think all of those things are a little bit silly, right? Because these projections that they have and what actually happens never really seem to line up, do they?
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's that's why they always have that, you know, plus or minus four percent, you know, and and the last what three or four presidential elections have been less than four percent, right? So I I mean they've been tight. And so with the guesses, because that's really what they are, they're educated guesses. Um, you know, traditionally in midterms, the party in power loses power, right? And so the second half of a presidency, even if they walk in with the House and the Senate and you know, and the executive branch, they lose at least part of that in the midterms. That's the projection. Now, the Republicans have done something that's never been done before, and they're having a midterms convention, and it started today in Dallas. Uh, and from what it sounds like, go figure this was President Trump's idea. Like, we've never done this before. And he's like, Well, why don't we? Um so they're having what is normally done in a presidential election year, yeah. They're having it in Dallas. It's two days, today and tomorrow. President Trump is there committed both days. Um and he has been very selective in who they're focusing on at the convention. So if you're a Republican candidate and you are clearly going to win, they don't even want you there. Like they're not going to put any time into you. You're not going to get any time on stage. They're focusing on the closer races across the country, depending on you know the House or the Senate or wherever. Um, and they're bringing those candidates in and they're putting the spotlight on them to try and win those close races. Um, and I and I it's very, very interesting. It'll be interesting to see if it has any effect whatsoever. I think it's worth a shot. I'm shocked that it's never happened before.
SPEAKER_04Um I know, I was gonna question it that. I'm like, wait a minute, that's really never happened before.
SPEAKER_01Never happened. Not a party-wide convention like this, because usually when you have the big convention, it has to do with the presidency, right? And everybody is kind of on the coattails. This is the first time it's you're doing it in a midterm. Okay. Um, but I think the the other thing that they're going to play on is this divide in the in the Democrats between the traditional Democrats and the DSA, the Democrat Socialists of America, you know, which is the divide within the Democrat Party. And I think that one of the things they're going to focus on is trying to inflame that divide. The Republicans are going to sit on the sideline, the GOP are going to sit there, they're going to have their convention, and they're going to try and drive a wedge between the Dems and the DSA. Um, because again, now it seems like, and you and I have talked about this many times, is now we're back to fighting for the middle, the undecided folks. Right. And I think because of this divide in the Democrat Party, there are more undecided folks out there, and that's who the Republicans are going after, but they're going to do it by highlighting the support for the DSA, right, within the Democrat Party. You've got Bill Ma or uh yeah, Maher is like, hey, listen, like I I can't stand these guys. Right. Um, this is horrible. It's not the direction of the Democrats. My vote's up in the air. And I think he's representative of a lot of folks. Unfortunately, you've got a little bit of that inside the Republican Party with the Tucker followers, the, you know, and all of those folks.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, and and so I think it's less severe. I I think it's it's you know, it's a much smaller population. Um, but I think that's what the Republicans are going to focus on. I think they're gonna, you know, kind of put a wedge, as big of a wedge as they can, inside the Democrat Party from over on the sideline and then try and take advantage of it.
SPEAKER_04Right. Yeah, and we and we've said for a long time that the Republican Party needs to change up their strategy here. They're not winning over the young people, they're not winning over certain demographics that we need, we need them. We need them. So, you know, study some of these successful models. I said it before, Spencer Pratt. I mean, he came out of nowhere and he made some serious waves. He brought a lot of, I mean, brought a lot of attention to his point of view, you know, and it was a great model. What he did was brilliant. And he's still doing it. Yeah, he's still doing it. Um, I don't think we've heard the last of him by any means, but have to change this up. You have to be doing something different here. And uh, we got enough smart people to figure this damn thing out for sure.
SPEAKER_01There's starting to talk about 28, uh presidential election. I I heard uh just this morning that based on uh age m modeling, um basically the projection of ages, this is gonna be the first time because of the baby boomers are starting to die off, that that the 18 to try to remember where they put the cutoff, maybe 18 to 28 or 18 to 32, the number of voters in that age group is going to be more than the whatever they had it at, like you know, 55 to and and up or something like that. Because of that. And so you're right, like the focus on younger is important. Um, and so they we we do collectively have to change strategies. Both of the parties do, because that's who the new voting population is, right? Right. So yeah, it's gonna be uh it's gonna be interesting to watch uh over the next two years. I did also hear that uh speculation that Gavin Newsom is not going to run. Um interesting. Okay. Uh and I heard that because he because he's already reading the tea leaves, right? That the number one candidate right now for the Democrats is Kamala, which is nuts. It's so crazy. But but there is the speculation that in the next two years, that AOC, and because of the backing of the DSA, she is gonna gain so much momentum that she is going to be inside of the party virtually unbeatable. So I Newsom doesn't want to embarrass himself, so I think there's some speculation already that he's like, it's you know, based on all of the guesses and all of the projections and everything else, that uh it's not worth it because he won't even win the party. So we'll see what happens. But but folks, it's coming. The 28th cycle is is kicking off already, and we're starting to see discussion. So it's gonna be a bit of a buffle up, everybody. Yep, right.
SPEAKER_04Get your seatbelt on, get your popcorn ready. My goodness. Well, you know, just uh regarding the the Kamala and AOC thing. Uh, you know, listen, obvious people ask me all the time. We've had this conversation before, people ask me all the time, like, would you be happy about that? Um I I mean, I don't know if happy is the word for it, amused, entertained, um, uh, looking forward to the lucrative possibilities that that brings for entertainment. But um happy, hmm, I don't know. Because you know what it means is, you know, sure, it means all the things I just said, but what it also means is that there are actually enough people out there that would vote for them. Like, and that makes me sad. That makes me sad, you know? Oh, but we'll see. I don't know. I mean, but it's interesting though, Clay, because you think about it, you know, we have this whole uh faction, of course, of your the the biggest uh Democrat voter is I shouldn't say this, it's not necessarily true, but a large portion of your Democrat voter are they're never Trumpers. Like that's their whole premise. They don't care who's on the ticket uh for the Democrat for their party. They just it's never Trump. And that goes for, you know, some conservatives um or independents, I guess they would be, who are just simply never Trump. Well, Trump's out of the equation for that. So now you have a guy like Vance, of course, who was one of them at one point, and that could work for or against them. Right. They could say, Oh, he's a traitor. You know, he's sold out for the Republicans, all of that. They could say, um, or the more level headed ones, the more thoughtful ones, might say, wait a minute, what made him change his mind? And maybe that's something, you know, that might make sense to me. And then, of course, you've got Rubio who can talk circles around anyone all day in his sleep with both hands tied behind his back. You know, I mean, clearly I'm a fan. So as long as he continues on that path and Vance keeps continuing on his path path uh path, um, they've got a great chance to to win over a big chunk of that middle. Just gotta do the right things. That's all, right?
SPEAKER_01You're right. That the lack of Trump it'll get transferred. Unfortunately, I think it'll get transferred to Vance.
SPEAKER_04Um, yeah, probably.
SPEAKER_01I think I think that Rubio is less guilt by association. Uh I think Vance is high guilt by association. Sure. So I think that it'll the never Trumpers will transfer to that. Uh but you know, it's two years, folks. We got a long time to get it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we got a long way to go. Long way to go before we even uh have any serious conversations about it. But oh my god. Sorry, what's
Midterms Strategy And Party Divides
SPEAKER_04going on in Europe? Europe, um, is this true, Clay? Europe is finally saying enough with the mass migration. I mean, talk about waiting until the horse is out of the barn.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, uh it's reaching to the farthest portions of Europe as well. So, like, you know, Poland and Hungary from jump street were like, we're not doing this. You know, they they they close the borders, we're like, we're not letting them in, you know, they and they don't care. Um, they you know, call us whatever you want. They they just haven't cared. Um, you know, Italy took the first punch in the mouth uh because of where they are in the Mediterranean and the boats coming across and all of those things. Uh, but they there has been a flip in in Italy about like we need to we we need to get rid of this. Spain, with what happened in uh, you know, was it Cueta, that northern that town, the all the Moroccans coming across, that you know, when you and I caught a few weeks ago, it was you know, within 72 hours, like, oh, everybody went home. And we knew that was a lie. And and so there have been a number, tens of thousands who have hung around, and the Spanish people have gotten to the point where you know, they the um Moroccans set up a camp on that beach, and the Spaniards from that town went down there like pitchforks and and torches and like tore the place down, you know, get out of here. Um, and then, you know, in Germany, the far right, which you start saying that in Germany and people start getting a little twitchy, but there is a young woman who is running for the next chancellor who has said if I get elected uh within the first 100 days, I am sending 800,000 Syrians back and I'm closing the borders. Um, she is scaring the establishment inside of Germany so much. There are measures being taken to ban the entire political party she belongs to from the elections, right? Um, so you've got that. Um, the EU itself is very fractured on opening, closing borders, about you know, doing deportations. France doesn't support it, most folks do. Um, I still say that immigration is going to be what breaks the EU apart. Uh, and then on the very extreme of this is what's happening in Ireland. And so what you've got is a resurrection of the Irish Republican Army, which has been very quiet for the last 25 years.
SPEAKER_0325 years.
SPEAKER_01It's been it's been about that long since they went purely political and stopped with the terrorism, right? And and you know, started to, I guess, continue their quest that way. But now there's a the new IRA has come out and basically told the Irish government if you don't get these people out of here, we are coming back. And it's going back to the old ways, and we're gonna do it ourselves. So there's threats of violence inside of Ireland against migrants who are, and the threat is basically against the government, like you take care of this or we're gonna, which is a very Irish thing to do.
SPEAKER_02So I mean, I don't care about it.
SPEAKER_01How do you not love it? How do you not kind of love it a little bit? Right. That's how things roll. Like, you know, um, but that's what's happening in Ireland. In fact, they had a hundred thousand people marching in Dublin. Um, like it this is it's the people are getting sick of it, and and they're taking action in various ways, everything from voting to what's going on in Ireland to what's going on in Spain. Um, and so the whole of Europe, uh the whole of Europeans, I think, less so their governments, but the citizens of Europe are done. They're done. And they're done. And so, you know, the Japanese, I saw very, you know, some people called it disturbing, but like Japan's been this way. They're like, We're not even building there's no mosques here. Like, we're not doing you come to Japan and become Japanese. That's how it works. Yes. But it was like these three. So you had that the uh Italian prime minister who's a female, you had the Japanese prime minister who's a female, and then you had this young lady who's running for chancellor of Germany, obviously, three women standing in front of the Japanese, Italian, and German flags, you know, and it was like this very Axis powers, World War II kind of thing. Yeah, um, but but Europe's done. Like the citizenry of Europe is through uh and and good for them.
SPEAKER_04Like it's absolutely it's so sad that it had to come to that, that it had to go that far. Yes, you know, when when history and I mean, gosh, you don't even need history. You need what's right in front of your face and happening right in front of you uh to be able to realize like this is not a good thing. These are not people that are here to acclimate, they are not here to get along. Uh, they're here to dominate and take over. I mean, they're literally telling you and showing you that that's what they're gonna do. And you want to be all peace and love and hearts and flowers and welcome the stranger. And uh, well, listen, if you want to come here, wherever here is, whether it's Europe or here, you have to do it the right way through the right channels. And yeah, you have to be somebody who contributes and benefits this country, not somebody who pillages it and rapes and murders and you know, abuses the system and does all of the things that are happening. Pretty simple.
SPEAKER_01Where you go, don't bring your trash with you. This is the same thing as like the you know, call it New York to Florida. It's the same thing, right? Don't or cow, you know, the people that leaving California going to Texas. Don't take your trash, don't move your trash from where you were to a new place. Like you were trying, you were trying to escape that. Don't bring it with you, right?
SPEAKER_04Exactly. And they do it every time, they try to do it every time. It's like, no, you knuckleheads, no. Oh my goodness. Well, you know, uh good for them and good for the the the people um for you know for standing up and and fighting against this. I mean, you know, I'm sure they're wishing they had done it sooner, that more people had done it sooner, they wouldn't be where they are now. And I, you know, I I suspect, maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. I feel like how do they how can you not assume that one look at what happened here, how President Trump ended it, ended it. They're not coming over and looked at that and went, well, he did it. So we we could probably do that, you know. I mean I think it's pretty impressive.
SPEAKER_01And the statistics to follow. The statistics to follow. We're at the lowest violent crime rate in a hundred years. Like it's the proof's in the pudding. Like, this is not a joke that it you you control immigration, you control your borders and who comes into your into your space, and and when you do that, you know, you can change some things. And so you're right. I think the European citizenry is looking over here and going, man, that's a good idea. We should probably do that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yep. Um, all right, guys, let's talk about Charlie.
Europe Hits A Migration Breaking Point
SPEAKER_04Um, tomorrow. Well, today, as far as you guys watching, you'll be watching today. We're recording the day before, Clay, let you know that before we started. Um, but it is at the time of everybody watching this, it is the uh anniversary of Charlie's assassination. It is not the official uh National Day of Remembrance. That's going to be October 14th, Charlie's birthday. Uh, just a little clarification, but this obviously is the anniversary of his death. We uh are still waiting to see if justice will be done here on this earth. We know it will be done in heaven. Um, but uh my goodness, so much has happened in that time, right? We started off seeing, um started off seeing this this beautiful, uh, amazing and heartbreaking revival starting, uh, not and not just here in the United States, uh across the across the globe, all around the world. Uh, there were some pretty uh amazing things happening and uh the uh attendance for churches went up dramatically. Um TPUSA involvement went up dramatically. Young people um starting to turn to or at least question uh the idea of faith and belief and something more. And um and and that was Charlie. And of course, you can't discount the millions, you know, I was gonna say thousands, but I think it is millions, millions of young people that Charlie uh AntiP USA was teaching how to debate and how to speak truth, and you know, and he was all about God, family, country, and of course, in that exact order. And um, you know, I saw a quote the other day and I think I shared it also today, uh somebody said it wasn't that it wasn't that Charlie used hate speech, it was that they hated what he had to say. And I think that's a huge distinction. And uh the truth about Charlie Kirk, if anybody cared to to actually take the time to watch it and not just listen to um, you know, whoever, somebody on the left, uh, tell you what to think of him. Uh the best way to find out who Charlie Kirk was and what his legacy is, is to go and watch his videos. Go and watch them and learn and find out who he was and what he stood for and what he believed and how he delivered it. And there was not an ounce of hate in anything that he did. And um it is so um infuriating and heartbreaking what people like Candace Owen, uh Owens has tried to do and to a large degree succeeded to do um to Charlie's memory, to his widow, to his family, to his friends, to TPUSA. Uh it is appalling what these people have been able to accomplish. And I there is no other word for it in my mind than evil. Evil, you know, Satan, and and I know this makes people uncomfortable, some people uncomfortable, so you can cover your ears or walk away if you want to and not listen to it. But uh I'm telling you what I believe, and I believe that uh Satan took one look at what was happening. Um, you know, they tried to destroy the man who was spreading a word that was pretty amazing. And uh Satan took one look at it and said, we can't have that. And he sent his nasty little minions out to try and destroy it. And what uh what they didn't account for is that uh you cannot destroy Charlie's legacy. It can't happen, it won't happen. It this will only grow. And uh it may have taken a hit, you know, TP USA certainly took a hit. Um, but we are far from being done with Charlie Kirk's legacy. And and uh I don't want to spend, you know, I thought I was actually gonna spend more time ranting and uh raving a little bit. And uh it's kind of just dawned on me right now that that's not what uh it's not what Charlie would have done. It's not what Charlie would have even wanted. Stay focused, stay focused on what stay focused on what really matters, and that is uh God family country. That's it right there. I did it without crying, Clay.
SPEAKER_01Whatever you want to say, uh I think Yeah, so I was actually very surprised that I haven't seen more on social media today uh about him. I know it's the day before, but you know, leading into it, um, but it's a good like today is a it's a good benchmark, folks, to understand like the trial, the actual trial for his killer who was caught within you know hours. Right. Um the actual trial hasn't even started yet. And it's been a year. So this you know, this is the way our justice system works. This is the way, but it it's some people, you know, when you say speedy trial, right, which is one of those things that we strive for, uh you don't always get it. And you and and the understanding of what a speedy trial is is like what you think it is and what the system thinks it is, are two completely different things. So um, you know, that that individual, that trial hasn't even started yet. And it's been a year. So um it's a it's an interesting, you know, perspective to to put it against a calendar like that. So um listen, uh Charlie is uh you know was a was a generational intellect. Uh he he was a one of a kind in his ability to read, retain, uh, recall information and uh and apply it. Like you don't find those people. Um and and even if you do find them, very few of them operate in a public space like Charlie did. So he he uh himself is uh irreplaceable. Um the mission has not changed, the organization you know continues to move forward, his message hasn't changed. Uh you just we we collectively as people can't replace a Charlie Kirk. It's impossible. And so that is the true loss, I think, uh, in all of this is is his ability and what he had, what he would have done for decades upon decades. Um and so that that is the tragic, you know, to me, the tragedy of all of this is what we lost is is decades of Charlie Kirk, unfortunately. And then of course, now we've got to back that up to the 25th anniversary of 9-11 on Friday.
Remembering Charlie Kirk And Faith
SPEAKER_01Right. Um and you know, like we said at the top of the show, everybody has their where were you? I know where I was, I know what I was doing. You know, I was a uh an army officer in charge of 150 paratroopers, and like our not only did that day change the world, but that set, you know, on a personal level for me, my life on a trajectory that I never could have anticipated. You know, years and years of deployments and the the you know, trips to Afghanistan and Iraq and around the world and all the things that we did, like on 910, couldn't even have fathomed what the future held for all of us. Um, I am upset. Um, I am upset with New York City. I am upset with the role that Mamdani is playing in all of this. Um I it would not surprise and folks, Elsa and I never, ever, ever, ever advocate for violence.
SPEAKER_02Of course.
SPEAKER_01Um, it would not surprise me if New York City uh became very unsettled on Friday. Emotionally, people are going to be unsettled, but there has the potential for things to escalate, which again, I'm not none of us are advocating for, none of us are hoping for, none of us want to see happen, but there is the potential for things to escalate on Friday. Uh, and we we can only wait and see. Um, I always, every single year, I avoid TV on 9-11. I can't watch the memorial stuff. No, me either. I know for a lot of people it is cathartic, it's important for them to remember. They watch the reading of the names and all I, you know, and even some people watch those movies that were made about the towers. I can't do any of that stuff. Yeah, say I know me, and and the only thing that comes out of that is angry clay. And yeah, no, nobody needs that. So I avoid that at all costs.
SPEAKER_04I will we do not need clay re-enlisting right now. No clay.
SPEAKER_01Nope, nope. So I avoid that at all costs. I will, of course, obviously, if something comes across the newswire on Friday, I will turn it on to monitor that. But as far as all of the other stuff, if you need that, folks, watch it. I think if it's good for you and it's something that helps you heal, if it helped if you think it helps the nation heal, um, then please do what you need to do uh in your own way. We should never forget 9-11. Uh, I just those things I I can't do because it just I I get it would be not good. So yeah, oh I listen. Keep it on a low tone all day.
SPEAKER_04Yes, yeah. I my day will be quite similar. I I will probably um schedule out some stuff and I will probably avoid social media and uh just and you know, I don't I don't really watch anything other than like streaming shows anyhow, but uh so it'll be social media. I wouldn't go so far as to say a blackout, but definitely very limited for me as well. And uh I will uh spend some time in prayer and uh thinking about those families and and those people that lost their lives at 3,000, Clay. 3,000 people. It's uh it's just insane. Uh for anybody who does want to know, if you don't know the the time frame for everything tomorrow or um tomorrow. Sorry, thank you, Friday. Um, the official ground zero ceremony begins at 8 40 a.m. with the traditional reading of the victims' names. Uh President Trump is gonna commemorate the anniversary at the Pentagon, uh, while Vice President Vance will attend the New York observance. Um, and uh, and of course, administration officials will attend the flight 93 ceremony in Pennsylvania. So uh that's where everything is gonna be happening. Um, but yeah. Um I, you know, again, I go back to the question we asked before, like what have we learned? What do we learn from this? And you look at the Mam Dani situation, you look at these uh, you know, other states that that um have these, you know, I mean, at best, socialist uh um candidates, uh, people that are, you know, actually not just gaining traction, getting an office. And it's just it blows my mind. And and guys, you know, and I know a lot of you are gonna sit there and go, oh, you can't lump them all together. You can't, I'm not lumping anybody together. I I am stating an absolute fact. And and here's what I want to show you. I'll show you this. And and I'm sorry to make anybody's blood boil. Um, but you know, if you care, it will. But here, I just want to show this if you haven't seen it. This is uh piece of garbage, mom Donnie, handing the pen to an attorney who um who uh defended a 9-11 terrorist. Um, so I I mean this isn't me lumping this nice guy into a group of no, he's a piece of garbage. This was deliberate. Did you see the smirk that's disgusting smirk on it both of their face? And by the way, the the woman who handed the pen, I forget what her title was. I had it a minute ago and I lost it, but somebody can type it in there. Um, her face, if you get the chance, watch the video and just zone in on her face and her facial expression and uh says everything that you you need to know about what she thought of that moment as well. And I think part of it too is like disbelief. Like, I can't believe I just had to hand that pen to that person. And yeah. Um so I don't think we've really learned a whole hell of a lot. As a nation, there are obviously so many of us who are having these conversations, these WTF conversations of how is this even happening? Um, we promised that we would never forget, and here we are. You know, that makes me angry and sad at the same time.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Change
9/11 Anger Then Football Returns
SPEAKER_01it up a little bit. Hey folks, I football's back. I know that Elsa has wrote off the NFL uh a few years ago because of Colin Kaepernick. I will tell you that uh the tone in the NFL is changing. Uh I I have stepped back into football this past year, including college football. Um, college football has also started. We've had a couple of weeks of college football. Um, I actually was at a college football game this past weekend. It was brutally hot in Iowa City. In fact, unfortunately, one of it was so hot that one of the band members died from heat.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yes, tragic. Oh, that's horrible. Yeah, horrible. Yep. Um, but football, football is back, college and pro. The NFL kicks off tonight, tonight being Wednesday night, uh, with the first game. And uh it's very interesting. Roger Goodell uh, you know, got just got an extension. Uh, there's a lot of things going on in the NFL right now that are changing the outlook, including um Nike, uh, which aren't tracking uh Nike for the first time in decades is being kicked off the SP 100 because the value of their stock since 2021 has gone down 87%.
SPEAKER_04So I wonder wonder what happened at that point. What what started that decline? I can't even guess, Clay.
SPEAKER_01Sure. But if you want go woke, go broke, this is it, folks. And if you still own Nike's stock, get rid of it because it's not going back up.
SPEAKER_04Drop it like it's hot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, very much so. Um, but regardless, folks, if you're a football fan, college or pro, your time of the year is here. Uh, and for all of you folks that do fantasy football, I know everybody's worked up about that. Um, but it is it is the inkling of fall, folks. Football is back.
SPEAKER_04I miss being excited for that. I miss all of the like excited preparation for football Sunday. I miss it. I loved it. Uh I'm a stubborn little son of a gun, though, so I don't know. We'll see. We'll see. Clay's giving me a little indicator there that maybe the tide is turning.
SPEAKER_01Patriots are on tonight. So maybe that's you know.
SPEAKER_04We'll see. Maybe I'll surprise myself. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Just throwing that out there.
SPEAKER_04All right, we'll see. Well, my friends, it was uh quite the roller coaster of emotions this show tonight, and uh, we appreciate you buckling in, strapping in for the ride.
Closing Thoughts And Comment Prompt
SPEAKER_04And uh we missed you. We missed hanging out with y'all. So we um we're we're glad to be back and we're glad that you're back. And uh we look forward to seeing you in the comments section. And uh uh Clay, I I did a show last week without you, and it was not fun. So thank you for being back this week. I'm very glad. Oh, you go ahead and yeah, folks, happy to be back.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, happy to be back. It was uh uh a needed, a needed three weeks, but uh yeah, folks, thanks for being with us. We hit us in the comments section uh and and even if you disagree. In fact, especially if you disagree. But uh, as always for me, keep moving, keep shooting.
SPEAKER_00Take care, guys. The headlines will change by tomorrow, but the patterns won't. Thanks for spending this time with us. We'll be back to keep asking the harder questions and telling the quieter truths. Until then, stay grounded, be discerning, and we'll see you next time.
